A slightly unusual format because I just can't tell this joke anywhere else.

There's a little town just across the James River from me named Surry. Apparently the city council is considering borrowing millions of dollars to build a new YMCA. One of the residents has written a letter to the local newspaper: Can Surry afford a Y? All I can think: Well, if they can't, they're going to be Surr from now on… And now you understand. I can't tell anyone else about this anywhere. It's a news article that doesn't allow comments. It came up in my news feed because I mod /r/NewportNews and this is news outside the city I can't post there. I could post to c/Virginia, I guess, but…
